Returns

You are responsible for returning borrowed items promptly to the library from which they were borrowed.

You can also return the books in the "Book Return" boxes available at the three main doors of the Library.

Holds

If the item you want is out, you may hold it through the Online catalog or ask the Circulation staff to hold it for you.

When the item becomes available, you will receive an e-mail notice from the library. The item will be held for you, in the library, for 48 hours.

Overdues

Before any overdues, you will receive by email a courtesy notice fourteen days before the due date.

For any overdue item(s) you will receive the first email notice seven days after the due date. Library will send up to two other notices with the final one as a bill notice.

  • If the item is not returned within two days of the overdue date, fines will start accumulating until the item is returned.
  • If the item is not returned, you may not borrow or renew until your record is cleared.
  • If the item is not returned after you receive the three overdue notices, the item will be considered lost and your will be charged the cost of that item.
Fines

Regular loan QR/1 per day

Short term loan: QR/3 per day

You should pay your fines at the Circulation counter. If fines are not paid, :

  • They will be accruing every day
  • You will be blocked from borrowing, renewing and registering for your course.
Penalties

You are responsible for replacing or paying the replacement charges if you lose books: replacement charges are determined according to the price of the item, shipping, processing, and binding.

You are not allowed to cut, tear, mark or write on library materials. In such a case you will be charged accordingly and you may risk losing your borrowing privileges.
