FAQ for visitors

  • Who can use QU Libraries?

QU Libraries (Female and Male) serve the University’s current faculty, students, staff, and researchers who hold a valid QU ID. Policies on admittance and borrowing for external users vary, and are generally limited to membership subscribers. Click here for information on membership and fees

  • Who can use online resources available through QU Libraries website?

QU provides to its community holding QU ID online resources accessible from within or off-campus. Visitors however, can use the online resources through a dedicated terminal in the Library, but because of publishers constraints, online resources cannot be used off campus.

  • How can I find out if QU Libraries have a particular book or periodical?

Visit the library catalog and the E-Resources to search QU holdings and periodicals and databases.

  • Does QU participate in Interlibrary Loan?

Yes, but only to QU community. Currently, QU Library is undergoing a pilot project for ILL between QU and some of the Education City Libraries. If you are a member of the participating libraries, then yes, you can request for books through your Library.

  • How can I get a copy of QU thesis or dissertation?

QU theses are located in the Women's Thesis Collection Room 127 in the Ground Floor, and can only be viewed onsite. For copies of theses or reference books, a photocopier is installed in the Reference Department.

  • I am a QU alumni. Can I use the libraries?

Yes, as an alumni you can use the Library and check out books without the need to apply for a membership. In order to do so, you need to register with the Alumni Club and have the proper Qatar ID. For more information on the Library privileges, check the Alumni and External Users document
